Our x-ray technology
Instrumentarium OP300 Maxio
Dynamic exploration of the third dimension
Being able to take an radiograph is one of the fundamental advantages the dental profession has today. Conventionally, a lot of dentists rely on 2-D radiology and some may even trust their experience so much that they may only take x-rays in their more extreme cases.
The days of the “eye-balling” are in the past. Having this technology at Choufani Dental Polyclinic allows us to visualize each patient’s individual anatomy inside out.
This specific machine happens to have an all in one functionality – whether you are getting an implant or about to undergo orthodontic treatment, the OP300 is capable of managing all those needs in one machine. It fits our clinicians mentality when dealing with their cases – pragmatic and thorough.
But Doc, I'm worried about being exposed to radiation...
We adhere with all the necessary precautions when taking a radiograph of any kind. We provide every patient with the standard protection required and follow the ALARA principle regarding radiation dose (AS LOW AS REASONABLY ACCEPTABLE).
The OP300 Maxio is equipped with Low Dose Technology (LDT) which reduces the radiation dose up to 5x lower than your standard 2-D radiographs, and is extremely useful for parents who are worried about their kids being exposed to excessive radiation.
You’ll be happy to know that the dose of radiation you are exposed to in a dental clinic is so low that it is relatively insignificant when compared to the radiation people are exposed to due to living around so many digital devices.
